Mud baths should be your first choice if you want to relax and have a good time in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Sitting in a tub of mud is as strange as it sounds, yet it has become a must-do activity in Nha Trang. Thap Ba Hot Springs is one of the most popular mud baths.
What kind of mud is used for bathing and what are its uses?
Soaking in a mineral mud bath is known as "mud bathing." Mineral mud is a natural mud formed by geological changes, derived from plants such as trees, flowers, buried grass, or mineral mud created on land.
Mineral mud is made up of organic, inorganic, carbon-containing compounds and water that is easy to absorb. Chronic arthritis, TB, sleeplessness, sciatica, stress, and psoriasis are just a few of the problems it can help with. Mud bath therapy also helps to treat endocrine diseases and creates beautiful skin that is smooth, youthful, and toned.
Take a mud bath at Thap Ba Hot Springs
The Thap Ba Hot Springs Center, which is located behind the Ponagar Tower, claims to be the first hot spring and mud bathing facility in Vietnam.
The inorganic mud, which is made up of pebbles and volcanic ash, is said to be an efficient physical therapy tool as well as a solution for skin disorders. Hot spring bath proponents also claim that they aid in the treatment of inflammation and endocrine issues.
The mud at the facility is pumped up from underground into small pools and mixed with mineral water piped in from the Vinh Phuong Commune, which is about four kilometers away.
It is recommended that visitors bathe in hot water before entering the mud. Before being sprayed on guests, the mineral water can be as hot as 40 degrees Celsius.
Following their bathing, guests relax in the mud in wooden tubs before enjoying a long sun bath, which bakes the mud into a crusty shell. After that, the mud-bather returns to some mineral water for a much-needed cleanse.
Showering with cold water, especially with soap, will wipe away layers of mud minerals that stay on the skin, limiting the effectiveness of the mud bath. While bathing, the body can produce weariness, stress, sleeplessness, and dizziness in patients with acute heart failure. Temperature and bath duration should be reported for each individual. After each bath, the entire body should be dried and allowed to rest for 10–20 minutes.
