To start your “ Hanoi City Tour Full Day “ will be picked up at your hotel in Old Quarter.
Your first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where visitors can pay respects to the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh.
In the grounds of Hanoi’s presidential palace you can visit Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, the simple two-room dwelling where Ho Chi Minh lived from 1958 until his final days (1969). Preserved in the same condition as during his life, it may be viewed through the windows.
Also visit the One Pillar Pagoda, an architecturally-unique example of Vietnam’s pagodas. First built in 1049 during the Ly Dynasty, the pagoda is in the shape of a blooming lotus.
Continue to the Quan Thanh Temple, dedicated to one of the principal deities in Taoism; this 11th century temple is one of Hanoi’s major attractions.
To revive you in the middle of the day stop for a traditional Vietnamese lunch.
Then in the afternoon you will go explore the Museum of History, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, and ‘The Huc’ Bridge. The end of the day will consist of a green car trip through the Old Quarter and once finished with that you will be brought to a Vietnamese water puppet show.
After the show you will be driven back to the hotel that you were picked up at in Hanoi.
We leave Hanoi in the morning and enjoy a wonderfully scenic 2-hour drive to Hoa Lu, the ancient royal capitol of Vietnam. Upon our arrival, your guide will take you to visit temples dedicated to Dinh and Le dynasty kings. Though the temples are not entirely maintained, some precious antiques are still to be found here such as the whole-stone dragon thrones and lacquered statues of the kings and other members of their royal families.
We continue our tour with a visit to Tam Coc with a twelve kilometer bicycle ride from Hoa Lu along a country lane with green paddy fields. On the outskirts of Tam Coc, we stop for lunch in a local restaurant.
From the wharf we row a sampan along the Ngo Dong river to reach the Tam Coc Grotto, which consists of the Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba caves. While drifting along you may spot mischievous monkeys and herds of goat. The river trip presents amazing photo opportunities, especially when locals come to harvest the water rice planted along the river.
Among the three caves, Hang Ca is the longest and considered the most picturesque. This grotto is adorned with beautiful sparkling stalactites and stalagmites. The second stop-over on our waterway journey, Hang Hai, lays 1 kilometer away with Hang Ba located very nearby.
