One of the most difficult designs in the nation, Song Be Golf Resort was acknowledged as the first international championship golf course in Vietnam. The golf resort was constructed in 1994 using the area's native vegetation, including coconut palms and fruit farms. The Song Be golf course received a USGA/SGA rating in 1995, which is considered an official rating.
Ten lakes are used in the style arrangement of Song Be Golf Resort. Water is a factor in eight of the 18 holes, which is not surprising given that Song Be, a Mekong tributary, means "small river" in the local language. This includes a difficult tenth hole tee shot between two lakes. The difficulty of the golf course is increased by mature tree-lined fairways and undulating greens.
Song Be Golf Resort's blue tees present a challenge because the course's overall length exceeds 7000 yards. All of the caddies on Song Be's walking courses are female. One or two golfers can rent golf carts. Golfers can enjoy the golf course and amenities after their round in a fully furnished, modern clubhouse with stunning views of the ocean and sand dunes.
