Nha Trang Bay in Vietnam was inducted as the 29th member of the World's Most Beautiful Bay Club at the 2nd Conference in Tadoussac, Quebec, Canada from June 1st to June 8th, 2003. Thus, Nha Trang Bay is comparable with the world's most famous beautiful bays, such as Vancouver and Tadoussac in Canada, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, San Francisco in the United States, Ha Long Bay, and Stockhom in Sweden.
Nha Trang Bay is one of the most beautiful and rare natural environments in the world, and it must be preserved, safeguarded, and developed for the benefit of the people. Nha Trang Bay is a magnificent and poetic setting, with a total area of approximately 500 hectares and 19 scattered large and small islands. The mainland is more than 3 kilometers away from Hon Tre Island. It is the largest island, measuring more than 10 kilometers in length and 6 kilometers in width. From afar, it appears to be a massive creeping crocodile in a deep blue lake. During the French and American wars, Hon Tre was the revolutionary base of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. This island has been a popular tourist attraction in recent years. The 5-star Vinpearl Resort and Spa, which opened in late 2003, has attracted a large number of visitors. Many national and international cultural events, festivals, and conferences have taken place at this resort.
In addition to Hon Tre, Nha Trang Bay features a plethora of islands of all shapes and sizes that leave an indelible effect on tourists. The islands are diverse, in the shape of a swimming turtle, an inkpot, and a sail floating in the sea. Many enigmatic caves on the islands of Hon Yen, Hon Noi, and Hon Ngoai are home to hundreds of canaries. Bird nests are a valuable product, with each kilogram costing 100 grams of gold. Hon Mun features a diverse collection of coral and sea creatures, and it was chosen as Vietnam's first marine natural history museum. The untamed landscapes of Hon Tam and Hon Mieu are well-known. In Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa, these are popular tourist spots.
The continental shelf in Vietnam is roughly 50 meters deep on average. However, the depth of the Nha Trang beach is above 200 meters at 70 kilometers from the shore and over 2,000 meters at 100 kilometers. Nha Trang Bay is home to a wide variety of seafood, including lobster, abalone, sea cucumber, king crab, and sea horse, among other valuable and rare products. It also has great biological, ecological, and environmental potential. The Institute of Oceanography, one of the region's most famous marine scientific research organizations, was founded in Nha Trang in 1927. The polite and generous people of Nha Trang, together with the fresh air, beautiful beaches, and scenic surroundings, are guaranteed to entice visitors to return.
