With 20,000 specimens and living species, the Oceanographic Museum of Nha Trang Oceanographic Institute is Southeast Asia's largest marine specimen keeper. Thousands of sea creatures may be seen, and visitors can learn about marine fauna and Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
The Oceanographic Museum in Nha Trang is a cultural and historical tourist destination as well as a place for scientific study. Sea creature specimens were obtained from Vietnam, Cambodia, and nearby nations' seas. Some of them, such as the dugong, are endangered. For several years, the museum and institute have been named one of the top ten most interesting cultural and historical tourist destinations in the world. The museum receives between 220,000 and 290,000 visitors each year.
The museum featured a massive whale skeleton, measuring 26 meters in length and 3 meters in height, that had been buried for 200 years in the Red River Delta. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the East Sea's natural features, minerals, resources, and ecological system. One of many exhibits at Nha Trang's Oceanographic Museum. The show, which features historical documents, photos, specimens, critters, and more from the Spratly and Paracel archipelagos, captivates visitors.
The exhibits in the Nha Trang Museum of Oceanography are divided into sections based on themes. A specimen of a large clam, measuring 1 meter in length and weighing 145 kilos, is displayed near the tunnel entrance. It was collected in Spratly waters on April 4, 1991. Aquariums will then transport tourists to a vibrant underwater environment. Biological and geological specimens are also available for viewing. Furthermore, the display has numerous documents, newspapers, images, maps, surveys, and measurements that prove the country's sovereignty in the Spratly and Paracel archipelagos.
