Nha Trang Christ the King Cathedral (aka Nha Trang Stone Church) is a well-known tourist attraction in the city. Visitors to Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa can not only relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, but also learn more about the historical cultural sites and structures, which feature a variety of architectural styles. The church in Nha Trang is one of the city's most well-known structures. It is situated on a steep hill in the heart of Nha Trang City.
On September 3rd, 1928, the church was completed. This was a wild environment, so they had to use 500 explosives to flatten the hill, which covered 4,500 square meters. A road was later constructed to deliver the supplies to the construction site. The church was completed in December 1941, and there are two ways to get there: one from the north and the other from the south.
The Nha Trang church's structural style rises gradually from the bottom to the top. The bell tower, which stands 38 meters above the road, is the highest point. The structure of the church is made of concrete and steel. The walls are composed of solid cement blocks that are 15 cm x 41 cm x 22 cm, rather than baked bricks as in traditional construction.
As if it were constructed of stone, the church is solid and stable. The Nha Trang Stone Church is another name for the church. The domes were placed in a harmonious relationship with the straight lines of the décor, resulting in a basic and dignified elegance. The artists installed blue and red glass in the archways on the upper floor to take advantage of the sunlight from the east and west and give the church a vivid and spectacular aspect.
Church in Nha Trang is especially known for its three bells, which were created by the renowned French bell maker Bourdon Carillond. The first bell, which was christened on July 29, 1934, has a miflat tone. The Do and La sounds are heard on the other two bells, which were christened on October 22nd, 1939. In December of 1935, a massive clock was placed on the bell tower.
After many years, the Nha Trang church has maintained its original form and construction. In addition to holding Christian events, it attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. The church is conveniently accessible to visitors in the heart of the city. They may admire the unique architecture and relax in the lobby while looking out at the beautiful city of Nha Trang.
