A posh course called Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club is situated on a private island in the Saigon River. Golfers must leave the city on Vietnam's main north-south route and take a ferry across the Saigon River to get to the Ho Chi Minh City golf course. The entire journey from Ho Chi Minh City's central hotel districts to the golf course takes about 90 minutes. The river can be reached more quickly by hiring a private speedboat taxi. The dock next to the Saigon Zoo is where many boat taxis depart.
The US firm Golfplan-Dale & Ramsey Golf Course Architects created Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club. High-end resort courses typically have an out-and-back layout. There are forward tees for golfers who want a more leisurely game because the tips extend to well over 7,500 yards.
Even for experienced golfers, the Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club's heavy bunkering on the majority of the holes on this flat terrain offers intrigue and delight to the entire golf course. Fairways, greens, and tees are entirely covered in Paspalum grass, which guarantees lush surroundings and advantageous ball lay.
Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club's front nine holes, which follow the river, offer some fantastic views to the right of several holes. The two signature holes are holes 9 and 18, with 9 being a lengthy par-4 and 18 being a dogleg par-5. Make sure to play the right green because both holes lead directly to the clubhouse. Between the number 9 green (left) and the number 18 green, a bunker is shared by both holes (right). Spending the day playing golf in Saigon on both the out (Sun Course) and in (Moon Course) ends up being a very pleasurable experience.
The residential and business areas that are off to the side of the Jeongsan course are anchored by the Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club, which features a sizable clubhouse. The clubhouse has two restaurants serving local and Korean favorites; a well-stocked pro shop; and luxury locker rooms with spa services.
