Muong Hoa valley, often known as Sapa's Eden or "a hidden pearl in the mist", is home to Vietnam's most magnificent terraced field scenery. Muong Hoa Valley is located eight kilometers southeast of Sa Pa Town in Hau Thao Commune. After passing through a high mountain pass, visitors arrive in the gorgeous valley.
The northeast mountainous region is known for its breathtaking and poetic beauty, which changes with the seasons. Sapa fans will find the Muong Hoa Valley very appealing. Because of the unusual terraced fields, it is gorgeous during both the new rice and harvest seasons. Tourists have liked going on a mid-mountain climb to see this breathtaking view. However, the best way to appreciate this particular feature of the town in fog is to view it from above, preferably from a mid-mountain vantage point.
The Muong Hoa mountain railway, which connects Sapa Town with the Fansipan cable car station, was inaugurated on March 31, 2018, and has significantly improved the tourist experience. This is one of Vietnam's longest mountain railways, measuring around two kilometers in length. It passes through two tunnels and four viaducts on its way to its final destination.
The rice harvesting season begins in September. The Muong Hoa Valley is a stunning image of nature, a flawless art masterpiece of the earth and human beings, as seen from the train. Muong Hoa Valley has a particular beauty at different times of the day. The Valley glows with energy, freshness, and beauty in the early morning sun, which is honey-colored. Muong Hoa at sunset is a breath of fresh air. Blue smoke from small buildings merges with drifting clouds at sunset, giving the autumn scene a surreal quality.
Muong Hoa valley becomes even more attractive in September, when the vivid yellow color of ripening rice is everywhere, thanks to the combination of green trees and an ivory-white sky. Small, serene, and poetic houses line the mountain's slope. Muong Hoa is unique among other places because the valley's terraced fields are the result of a combination of the Giáy people's water rice planting technique in the tight valley topography and the Mong and Dao people's ground-breaking techniques in the high mountains.
In Muong Hoa valley, there is a wonderful 15-kilometer-long stream that runs through the communes of Lao Chai, Ta Van, Hau Thao, and Ban Ho. The lower section of the famed Sliver Waterfall is known as Muong Hoa Stream. Muong Hoa Stream and its vigorous flow are made up of twenty-two streams that originate in woods and mountain creeks. People living along the stream's banks made rattan bridges to cross it. The bridges add to the valley's attractiveness and draw a large number of tourists looking for unusual photo opportunities.
Along the mountain, there is an area with strangely carved stones. There are at least 159 stones with strange images in the four-kilometer-long and two-kilometer-wide area. Numerous scientists from Vietnam, Russia, France, and Australia used to work in the area.
Stones with magnificent engravings may be found throughout the historic area, particularly at Ban Pho. Some large stones are carved with various images, including pictures of people in various situations, such as stretching their arms with light rays from above their heads, holding hands, or standing upside down. On the Dong Son drum, some show lovers with intertwined sexual organs as a sign of reproduction worship. If we look closely, we can see up to 11 different types of odd human images. The majority of scientists agree that this is a valuable human legacy. It not only has fine-arts worth, but it also has spiritual significance. It's as though the forebears have given a secret message to their future children. It is also one of Sa Pa's most appealing tourist attractions.
It will be an unforgettable experience no matter when you visit Muong Hoa Valley. Unlike the bustling and boisterous town center of Sa Pa, Muong Hoa is always humble, graceful, and spectacular, with its unmistakable God-given beauty.
