Hanoi – Halong Bay – Hanoi transportation offers diversified options, such as: cars, helicopters, seaplanes, even trains.
Seaplane transportation
Tourists can reach the famous Halong Bay in about 45 minutes from Noi Bai airport by taking a seaplane tour. Furthermore, with an exhilarating water take-off and landing, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Every ride's highlight is the moment of take-off. The seaplane accelerates to speed and lifts off in less than 60 seconds, thrilling every customer from the start. The seaplane lands on the glistening water of Tuan Chau Marina, cruises over the ripples, and climbs ashore, making for a stunning landing. Between the two, travelers may see tall limestone islets crowned by forest rising from the emerald water.
Automobile (interprovincial bus, private car...)
Interprovincial buses, visitors' buses, private vehicles, and motorbikes are the most popular modes of transportation for tourists traveling from Hanoi to Halong. The fact that road and bridge tolls are relatively inexpensive is one of the main reasons why most tourists select this mode of transportation. In addition, many travelers find 3 hours and 15 minutes in a car with air conditioning and cushioned seats to be comfortable and soothing.
When it comes to car transportation, travelers have a variety of possibilities. Travel agencies would usually prepare a bus for a large group of tourists traveling on a tour so that they do not have to worry about transportation. Vietnamese interprovincial buses may be the best option for solo or small groups of tourists traveling between provinces. Tourists should, however, take care to safeguard their belongings (especially small goods like telephones, purses, or jewelry...), pay for tickets only at bus stations, and never board buses that pick up passengers on the road. In the worst-case scenario, a cab is an option, though it will be more expensive.
Train transportation
Train travel is a great alternative for travelers who like the pleasure of seeing landscapes when traveling by train. The train departs from Yen Vien Station in Hanoi at 5:15 a.m. and arrives in Halong City after around 7 hours. On the drive, passengers will remember the breathtaking view of unending rice fields, woodlands, and the ocean as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The train, on the other hand, may be a nightmare for any clean freak. It's not filthy, but it's also not immaculate.
Helicopter transportation
Northern Services Flight Company has been providing this service since 2008. It takes only 45 minutes to arrive in Halong City with a one-way ticket costing around 400 USD and a round-trip ticket costing around 600 USD. This organization offers travelers see-sighting services in addition to ordinary transportation. A panoramic view of Halong Bay from above is pretty amazing.
